Patients sometimes request services from us that are not funded by the NHS.

Examples of non-NHS services where fees are charged:

• Certain travel vaccinations
• Private medical insurance reports
• Holiday cancellation claim forms
• Referral for private care forms
• Letters requested by, or on behalf of, the patient

Some requested work may have a set fee associated with it, whereas others may have a fee generated pro-rata, determined by the time it has taken a GP to complete the request. Where a fee is applicable, it will be explained to you beforehand.

Due to the increasing pressures being placed on primary care, private work may take between 3 and 6 months to process. However, all work is completed at the earliest opportunity.
