Clinics We Offer
NHS Services
In addition to general health advice and treatment, the Practice provide the following NHS services:
- Maternity care
- Child Development Monitoring
- Vaccinations and Immunisations
- Minor Surgery - steroid/joint injections
- Diabetes and Asthma/COPD clinics
- Post-operative dressing care, suture removal, chronic wound care
- Blood sampling
- Some in-house investigations.
Antenatal Clinics
The Midwifery team see patients at their own clinic at 58e Cottage Beck Road, Scunthorpe.
Please make a routine appointment with a Doctor when your pregnancy is first confirmed. After this your routine reviews will be with a Midwife. The team can be contacted on (01724) 847362 during the hours of 9am and 5pm, and they will then arrange your first appointment.
Smoking Cessation Clinic
Would you like help to stop smoking? Smoking cessation services are offered by North Lincolnshire Council's Health Trainer service. The Health Trainers are based at the Ironstone Centre, West Street, Scunthorpe DN15 6HX. You can arrange smoking cessation appointments with them by telephoning (01724) 292170.
Periodic Health Checks
If you are at least 16 and have not consulted us for 3 years or at least 75 and have not consulted us for 1 year, you are welcome to arrange a routine review with a Doctor or Nurse.
Occupational Therapy
If you have trouble within the home, for example you are struggling to perform domestics tasks, then the Occupational Therapists will be able to offer assistance and advice. The service is based at Brumby Resource Centre, and they can be contacted on (01724) 288 079.
Falls Service
Are you having falls regularly? Then you should contact the Falls service. The service is based at the Ironstone Centre in Scunthorpe, and the appointment secretary, Heather Ingall, can be contacted on (01724) 298080.
Home Blood Pressure Monitoring
If you have been asked to monitor your blood pressure at home by the Practice, you can click here to download the form. This form can be filled in electronically and emailed back to us at the end of the monitoring.
Blood pressure should be recorded twice a day for at least 7 days. Blood pressure is taken as 2 consecutive measurements at least 1 minute apart, both morning and evening. You should be relaxed in a quiet, comfortable environment at normal room temperature and should not be talking. Ideally you shouldn’t need to pass urine, and should not have eaten recently, smoked, taken caffeine or exercised. You should be seated for at least 5 minutes and any tight clothing should be removed before taking the reading. Your arm should be supported at heart level.
Blood pressure forms must have your name and date of birth on them and must be fully complete, or you may be asked to redo the monitoring.
Any blood pressure monitors borrowed from the Practice, must be returned at the end of the 7 day period.
Forms that have been filled in electronically must be emailed to nl.b81118@nhs.net at the end of monitoring.
