Rollout of digital appointment letters continues at NLaG
Posted on 5 May 2021
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust is moving over to digital appointment letters for outpatient appointments and the majority of specialties are now live.
How does it work?
Patients will receive a text message with a link to their digital appointment letter – the system is safe and secure and they’ll have to put their date of birth in to be able to access the letter. From there they can confirm, rebook or cancel their appointment.
The message will come from +447786209254 and say ‘This is a Patient Portal digital letter invitation from North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.’
If patients don’t have a smartphone, or the Trust doesn’t have a number for them or they simply choose not to open the letter a printed copy will be automatically generated and sent out into the post to them.
As well as being quick and easy for patients to use, digital letters are also more accessible as people can view the letter in different languages, increase the text size and even have it read out to them.
